Just as new members are vital to maintain a vibrant Toastmasters Club, new clubs are most important for the strength and stability of a District. New Clubs Chairpersons provide a focal point for the development of the District.

The new club development efforts and seek opportunities in communities and companies with the goal of one new club per Area per year (roughly 40 new clubs per year).

While some new club leads come directly from the Toastmasters International, via website inquiries, alert Area and Division Governors are excellent resources to identify new club opportunities.

Key elements of support include:

  • Timely follow up on new club inquiries with information and encouragement
  • Set up Demonstration Meetings to showcase a typical Toastmasters meeting
  • Highlight what Toastmasters can do for the group
  • Clarify membership and chartering fees
  • Assist with the application process
  • Assign sponsor(s) and mentor(s)
  • Help with the Charter Ceremony and initial club meetings as needed
