A Consent Agenda is a process by which non-controversial action items are organized apart from the rest of the District Business Meeting Agenda and approved as a group. This includes all of the business items that require the approval of the Council, yet do not require discussion before the vote. On the Business Meeting Agenda, the Consent Agenda is voted on with a single vote to approve the Consent Agenda, thus saving the council a great deal of valuable time during the Business Meeting.
Items that require clarification and/or questions
For items that require clarification and/or questions, a request must have been made with the District Secretary (or her representative) at the Credentials Desk no later than 20 minutes before the Business Meeting begins. An item cannot be pulled from the Consent Agenda just to have a question answered. This allows the person being questioned to prepare an appropriate answer.
Items that require discussion
If there is an item which a council member has disagreement with, a request must have been made to the District Secretary (or her representative) at the Credentials desk no later than 20 minutes before Business Meeting begins, so that the item may be pulled from the Consent Agenda and added to the regular Agenda as an item to be discussed.
Below are the items on the Consent Agenda for April 25, 2015.
- Approval of the Fall Conference meeting minutes
- Adoption of the District buget
