Retired Lieutenant Colonel Oakland McCulloch to Deliver Keynote at Founder’s District Toastmasters Annual Conference

San Clemente, California — [March 17, 2024] – Founder’s District Toastmasters announces that Retired Lieutenant Colonel Oakland McCulloch, an internationally recognized keynote speaker and esteemed author, will serve as a keynote speaker at the annual conference with his keynote speech titled “Our Leadership Legacy: Becoming the Leader You Were Meant to Be.” The Derby-inspired event themed “Run for the Roses” will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Center for Spiritual Living from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm PT, offering both in-person and online participation options.

McCulloch brings a wealth of experience and insight to the conference with over 40 years of leadership experience in combat, peacekeeping operations, disaster relief operations, and boardrooms. His expertise is also reflected in his 2021 release, “Your Leadership Legacy: Becoming the Leader You Were Meant to Be,” a book that serves as a guide for aspiring leaders.

During his illustrious 23-year career in the Army, McCulloch held numerous leadership positions in the Infantry and Armor branches. His final assignment was as the Professor of Military Science at the University of South Alabama, where he led the training and commissioning of Lieutenants, significantly expanding the program during his tenure.

Following his retirement from the Army in September 2009, McCulloch joined the staff at the Bay Area Food Bank as the Associate Director during the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Throughout his 15 years of service with Army ROTC, he was instrumental in commissioning over 550 Lieutenants for the United States Army.

McCulloch’s exceptional leadership has been recognized with thirty-one military service awards, including the Bronze Star, eight Meritorious Service Medals, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

The Founder’s District Toastmasters Annual Conference will deliver an enriching experience for attendees, featuring McCulloch’s keynote address, Olympian Mary Osborne Andrew’s keynote address, the District International Speech and Evaluation contests, the 2024 Communication and Leadership Award and opportunities for networking.
