Distinguished Toastmaster Award (DTM) 2024-2025

Read about Ionut Breb’s DTM Journey:

In 2013, when I joined Toastmasters, I had one goal: to get rid of my filler words. With the positive and supportive environment created by my fellow colleagues, I managed to achieve it. Then, I set other goals, and after reaching each one, I realized I still had room for more, room to grow. Eleven years later, I completed the requirements for the DTM award, and what made it even more special was being awarded the designation on the 100th Anniversary of Toastmasters.

Back then, I didn’t even know what DTM stood for. When I learned about it, I thought it was an entirely different league, completely inaccessible to a young kid from a village. But I have since learned that IT IS POSSIBLE, for anyone who aims and dares. Now, all these years later, I finally know what DTM stands for, especially to me: Dedicated to the Member. What’s my next goal? Another DTM? No! Another 10 DTMs—but not for me, for 10 of my colleagues.

The opportunities Toastmasters offers are incredible, and now I am in a position to humbly give back. My journey is far from over, but it’s more meaningful as I get to celebrate the WINS of my friends—which feels just about the same as winning myself, only better. I want to thank all my fellow Toastmasters who provided thoughtful feedback over the years and, in their own ways, reminded me that: IT IS POSSIBLE.
