Session Outline:
Being a speech contest judge will improve your listening and leadership skills, and enable you to serve our District by ensuring that this year we will have enough qualified contest judges. Judge training will give you the information you need to be an outstanding speech contest judge.

Presenter Bio: Dr. Diana Dee, DTM, PDD
Diana Dee has been a Toastmaster for over 40 years.
The first half of her professional life, she helped design high powered chemical lasers for President Reagan’s Star Wars defense program. In the second half, she taught relational database design, data querying, and relational database management. Her license plate reads: MS SQL.
She is now “retired,” meaning she is “full-time Toastmasters.”
Diana has been interested in contest judging for a long time. In 2001, she attended the World Championship of Public Speaking in Anaheim. To test her judging skill, she brought and filled out a judging form as though she was a judge, and agreed with the judging results on first and second place winners.
Diana has been a Judge and a Chief Judge at Area, Division, District, and Regional speech contests. She has served as a Semi-Final Tiebreaking Judge, and as a World Championship of Public Speaking teller and qualifying judge.
Diana has trained judges and chief judges at many LACE and contest training events.
Her goal is to help you become a well-trained Toastmasters Speech Contest Judge and/or Chief Judge.
